The Miller School Playground is hosting a Jump Rope event for the Miller School children and Placentino 2nd graders in March. This school service program is similar to the Jump Rope for Heart event our Miller School children participated in previous years, but this year the proceeds will go to rebuilding the Miller School Playground.
Jump Rope for the Playground is a fun event where children jump rope with friends and learn about the value of exercise and healthy habits, all while teaching them the importance of community service by contributing to their school’s new playground.
Students are asked to collect sponsors from early February until March 1st, the day of the Jump-a-thon event. Envelopes with sponsor sign-up forms and additional information are being sent home with children the week of February 6th. Friends and family can also make a secure donation online in a participant’s name using PayPal and indicating the participant in the “Purpose” field.
Students are eligible for a variety of prizes based on the amount of money raised:
- Most Money Raised: IPOD Touch!
- $75 Raised: Jump Rope for the Playground Backpack
- $30 Raised: Jump for Miller Bracelet
- Most Money Raised for a Class: A Bowling Field Trip with Mr. Kiley and Mr. MacDonald!
