Harlem Wizards vs Miller EVOS

Harlem Wizards vs The Miller EVOS

Thank you all for making the Harlem Wizards Basketball fundraiser a huge success! The Harlem Wizards entertained a sold-out crowd in their game against the Miller Evos on Tuesday, October 18th. With your help, the playground committee raised almost $7000. All proceeds will go toward the new Miller School playground.

The night started off with a musical number by Holliston School for the Performing Arts students who performed an arrangement of the Beatles’ song, Come Together. This was followed by Boy Scouts Pack 47, Den 3’s flag ceremony, after which Brittney Galeaz, a Holliston High School senior, lead the assembly in the National Anthem.

Our two raffle drawings were held during the event. Congratulations to our Big Cash Raffle winners: David Nersessian, Joan Sousa, and Steve Guerrera. Congratulations also to Anne Young, our Sylvan Learning Center Raffle prize winner.

The playground committee sends out a big thank you to our sponsors for making this event possible. We thank our Platinum sponsor, Sylvan Learning Center of Franklin, for their sponsorship and for the donation of their generous Sylvan tutoring package as a raffle prize. We thank our Gold sponsors: Shooting Stars Basketball, Caissie Driving School, Anderson Baseball Academy, and Holliston School for the Performing Arts. We also want to express our gratitude to Tom-E-Tees, Boston Milford Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites, Peapod, and to Stop & Shop and Hockomock YMCA for their Stop & Shop Shape Up! Mini grant.

We’d love to hear from you. If you have any questions or suggestions, or if you have any fundraising ideas or sponsorship leads, please email us at fmillerplayground@gmail.com.

Stay tuned for more Playground hosted events in the year to come as we work to raise funds for the Miller School playground renovations. We still have a long way to go, but with your continued help, we’re sure to reach our goal of breaking ground in August of 2012!
